Pesaro, 9 July (LaPresse) – Massimo Malavolta, the 50-year-old accused of murdering his 45-year-old wife, Emanuela Massicci, at their home in Ripaberarda, a hamlet of Castignano (Ascoli Piceno), on 19 December 2024, has been sentenced to life imprisonment and three months of daytime solitary confinement. The sentence was handed down by the Court of Assizes in Macerata. The woman, a teacher by profession, died as a result of the beatings and stab wounds inflicted on her during the night by her husband, a factory worker in Ascoli Piceno. Their children, aged 8 and 10, were also present in the house. The request by the Ascoli Public Prosecutor’s Office was therefore upheld; the charge is that of murder with multiple aggravating circumstances, as the intended consequence of the offences of ill-treatment, bodily harm and torture; aggravated by the fact that it was committed against his wife, with cruelty and for trivial reasons. The defendant has also been charged with acts of abuse committed against the woman from January 2024 onwards, which took place in the presence of their minor children.
