Madrid (Spain), 7 June (LaPresse) – Corpus Christi Mass in the square, a meeting with the world of art and culture – during which Antonio Banderas is scheduled to speak – and a private meeting with members of the Order of St Augustine: these are the events scheduled for the second day of Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic journey to Spain. In Madrid, the Pontiff will celebrate Holy Mass in the central Plaza de Cibeles. The Corpus Christi procession will then set off. The Pontiff will travel 3.3 km in the popemobile. As a sign of devotion to the Eucharist, multicoloured floral carpets have been laid out along the route of the Blessed Sacrament. The Asociación de Alfombristas del Corpus Cristi de Ponteareas has sent 24 craftsmen to Madrid to coordinate the creation of the carpets with 160 volunteers. The choir and orchestra comprise around 400 members.
