Rome, 20 February (LaPresse) – Controversy over the competition for admission to the notarial profession. Yesterday, a file containing the candidates and exam results was accidentally published on the website of the National Council of Notaries. The file was clearly intended for internal use by the commission, as one column of the Excel spreadsheet contains “comments” from the members, nine magistrates, six professors and nine notaries. The comments range from the names of saints, under a special column entitled “Saint of the Day”, which includes “Saint Bernadette”, “Saint Thomas Aquinas”, “Saint Matilda of Hackeborn” and “Saint John Paul II”, to more colourful expressions such as “Pardoned on commercial matters – according to Carmelo, a man for me, a woman”, ‘Phenomenon??? “, ‘Genius?”, “Cute”. The file remained online for a very short time, about fifteen minutes: enough to be downloaded and start circulating in chat rooms.
