Rome, 19 Dec. (LaPresse) – The death of Pope Francis and the election of Pope Leo XIV “were unique moments, also for the Jubilee. Perhaps it has only happened once in the history of the Jubilees that a Pope died during the Jubilee and a new one was elected. What we have recorded is that certainly until March there was an increase in pilgrims, but very, very slow. Starting in May, however, we had incredible peaks in attendance. As of yesterday, the numbers are 32 million 370 thousand’. So said Monsignor Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelisation and head of the Jubilee organisation, on Cinque Minuti on Rai1.
