Pope: in audience with rabbis from Rome and Milan, combating anti-Semitism

Milan, 11 December (LaPresse) – The Chief Rabbi of Rome, Rav Riccardo Di Segni, and the Chief Rabbi of Milan, Rav Alfonso Arbib, were received this morning in audience by Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican Apostolic Palace. During the cordial meeting, characterised by an atmosphere of deep attention and mutual respect, the urgency of combating anti-Semitism in all its forms was shared. It was also an opportunity to agree on the historical and contemporary value of relations between Jews and Catholics. The audience concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthen relations and promote shared initiatives oriented towards dialogue and respect, areas in which the community in Rome has always been a recognised and virtuous model.
