Alongside seven other passengers were killed in the helicopter crash

Today marks one year since the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, who died on January 26, 2020, in a plane crash. Kobe and Gianna alongside seven other passengers, were killed on impact in an helicopter crash. Fans today have gathered near Staples Center in Los Angeles and showed respect for the the 18-time NBA All-Star who won five championships and his daughter Gianna. Artist Louie Sloe Palsino made a mural in Los Angeles to pay a tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

“I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings,” Vanessa Bryant captioned an Instagram post of a moving note from Gianna’s best friend and continued: “It still doesn’t seem real. Kob, we did it right. Gigi, you still make mommy proud. I love you!.”
