President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.

The Joe Biden era in the White House begins today with the swearing in and inauguration ceremony. His predecessor, Donald Trump, has already left Washington with his wife Melania.

For the Democrat this is the third ceremony after those of 2009 and 2013 when he was sworn in as vice president alongside Barack Obama. Again he will use the family bible used in all the oaths he took during his political career.
