Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton arrived at the inauguration

All former US presidents attending the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden at the United States Capitol. George W. Bush and his wife Laura arrived first, several hours before the swearing-in ceremony. Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton arrived shortly after, in separate marches. The other living former president, 96-year-old Jimmy Carter, previously announced he would not attend. Carter and his wife, 93-year-old Rosalynn Carter, have largely lived through the coronavirus pandemic at their home in Plains, Georgia.

President Donald Trump will not attend the ceremony for Biden, however the outgoing Vice President Mike Pence and wife Karen have arrived at the grandstand where Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in.

Hillary Clinton expresses on Twitter her congratulations to Kamala Harris:”It delights me to think that what feels historical and amazing to us today—a woman sworn in to the vice presidency—will seem normal, obvious, “of course” to Kamala’s grand-nieces as they grow up. And they will be right.”
