For the inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden security must be prepared

As the United States prepares for the swearing in and inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, the mayor of Washington, Muriel Bowser has requested that security be strengthened in anticipation of the inauguration ceremony of the democratic mandate, after the attack on the Capitol led forward from Trump supporters on January 6.

“We firmly believe that the 59th presidential inauguration on January 20 will require a very different approach than previous inaugurations given the chaos, injuries and deaths that the US Capitol witnessed during the uprising,” Bowser wrote in a letter to Chad Wolf, the acting secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security. The first citizen requested a “pre-disaster declaration” for the district to get federal assistance approved and cited “new threats from insurgent acts by internal terrorists”, thus asking that the security period foreseen for the inauguration of Biden is extended from Monday to January 24 and that the Capitol is included in the perimeter.
