Four new versions come alive with new colors, materials and style
New year and new range for Abarth 595. If 2020 was characterized by the launch of two new Special series – the 595 Monster Energy Yamaha and the 595 Scorpioneoro – the novelties also continue in 2021, in which the Scorpion continues to ‘sting’ inaugurating the latest 595 range. Four new versions come alive with new colors, materials, style details, advanced technology and customization: 595, Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse. “We are starting the year with four important innovations that make us look to 2021 with great positivity,” comments Luca Napolitano, head of Fiat, Lancia & Abarth Brand Emea.
Available in sedan and convertible versions, the models in the Abarth 595 range share unique characteristics. The four versions are presented with power levels from 145 to 180 hp, all Euro 6D Final. The 595 version is the entrance to the Abarth world and offers the ‘Sport mode’ selector, which in the new range is renamed ‘Scorpion mode’. The 595 Turismo (with new interiors and the new Helmet Brown color) and Competizione (available in the new Blu Rally) have also been renewed, from a technical and style point of view.
The new Abarth 595 range is equipped with the 1.4 T-jet engine, the same engine from which the Formula 4 engines of the Italian and German Championships are derived. The engine is available in three power levels: Abarth 595 has 145 hp, which rise to 165 on the Turismo version, while 595 Competizione and 595 Esseesse, with their 180 hp.
Space also for competitions: “In 2021 in the rally we want to renew the trophy to be competed in 6 stages in various European countries.” Napolitano underlines recalling how racing is“ a very severe testing ground for testing technical solutions that we bring to the production range ”. Although 2020 was a difficult year, it did not ‘stop’ Scorpio: “The positive trend has continued, the market share has grown by almost 50% compared to last year, a success linked to the personality of this little supercar and the passion of many fans.” explained Napolitano.
