(LaPresse) “For the America’s Cup everything is evolving. The teams are starting to sail and I with Alinghi am in Barcelona where we have our base. We sail AC 75, Team New Zealand’s boat 1 in the new waters of Barcelona, for sure the conditions are different than what we found in New Zealand, each team will be thinking about how to develop the boat in these conditions.
We’ve seen Luna Rossa’s launch which is proposing a very interesting test boat, Team New Zeland’s New Zealanders in Auckland are also sailing a test boat. Everything is evolving. Now the teams are just watching each other and seeing what the other is doing. We personally are at an early stage where we have to catch up a little bit being a new team so we think a little bit more about ourselves and in a few months we will start thinking about the others as well.”
So to LaPresse Pietro Sibello, Italian former Luna Rossa sailor now with the Swiss team Alinghi, on the America’s Cup 2024 scheduled to be held in Barcelona. Sibello these days is busy with the Notaro team at the J/70 World Championship, organized at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
