All Italian passport holders living abroad are eligible to vote for Italy's new government

Voting in Italy is now just over a month away. Ahead of the Sept. 25 elections, the National Italian-American Foundation (NIAF) is encouraging Italians living in America to vote. Polls give the center-right coalition, composed of Silvio Berlusconi, Matteo Salvini and Giorgia Meloni, an advantage over their opponents. That could make Meloni Italy’s first female prime minister. Italians living abroad will receive ballots by Sept. 11: these must then be filled out and returned to the respective Italian consulate in the United States by Sept. 22.
