War in Ukraine, Christians in the Middle East, and family were among topics discussed
(LaPresse) Pope Francis received in audience Katalin Novák, President of the Republic of Hungary, who later met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
According to reports from the Holy See Press Office, “during the cordial talks in the Secretariat of State, after recalling the Apostolic Journey to Budapest last September on the occasion of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress, satisfaction was expressed with the good bilateral relations. They then dwelt on some issues of common interest, such as the family, promotion of the culture of life, youth and the situation of Christians in the Middle East.
In the continuation of the talks, the war in Ukraine and the commitment to peace were discussed.”
