The little one, who weighed about 6kg at birth, immediately got to her feet and in less than 1 hour was already looking for her mother's milk. Today, not even a week after birth, she is living happily with her family in the habitat dedicated to them on the shores of the lake.
(LaPresse) Italy’s most famous alpaca family, Alpaca and Merino, has expanded. Arrived at Bioparco on the outskirts of Turin from another European zoological facility in 2020, the two mammals (a species native to South America in the camelid family) immediately became children’s idols. Alpaca, a few days ago, after a gestation of about 11 months, gave birth to a baby, a female. The little one, who weighed about 6kg at birth, immediately got to her feet and in less than 1 hour was already looking for her mother’s milk. Today, not even a week after birth, she is living happily with her family in the habitat dedicated to them on the shores of the lake.
