Fears that bacteria could cause mass sickening have abated, but weather-generated health threats remain in Italy.
(LaPresse) The parameters of Escherichia coli bacteria in the sea off Italy’s Emilia-Romagna Riviera are back within limits, in all points where abnormalities had been recorded. The concentration of bacteria has dramatically decreased within 24 hours: the maximum threshold of attention is set at 500 while the last sample was registering values between 20 and 30 with only one “peak” at 110. The mayors of the 22 affected locations, where out-of-norm values of bacteria had been found, withdrew all temporary bathing prohibition ordinances.
