The vice president of the Yacht Club de Monaco talks about the sustainable event in Monte Carlo

“The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is important because it is at the forefront of the future of boating. More than 100 years ago the first motor boat races were held in Monaco, and now we are hosting competitions for boats with electric and alternative propulsion. I think it is important to have an event where the latest generation of eco-boats can be developed, tested and proven. With this event we can bring a lot of attention to this issue: people from all over the world attend this event to test their boats and compare the performance with other teams thus giving a boost to the evolution of the sector but also bringing novelties that can be commercialized in the future.”

That’s the comment of Pierre Casiraghi, vice president of the Yacht Club de Monaco, experienced sailor and founder of Team Malizia, on the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, an event staged for the ninth year at the Yacht Club de Monaco as part of the Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting initiative.
