Thousandths of a second separate finishers.
Pecco Bagnaia took pole position of the Dutch MotoGP Grand Prix with a perfect lap: in 1:31:504 he set the record of the Assen track, considered the ‘university’ of the World Championship. Reigning world champion Fabio Quartararo, behind his Yamaha by 116 thousandths, must be satisfied with second place on the grid behind the Italian’s Ducati. Another Ducati, that of Jorge Martin, is third place at 204 thousandths from Bagnaia. Excellent fourth place for Marco Bezzecchi, also on Ducati, ahead of Aleix Espargaro, fifth with Aprilia.
