Ambassador Mariangela Zappia: "The values of our Constitution, born from the referendum held 76 years ago, link Italy and the United States"
On 2 June, Italians around the world celebrated Italian Republic Day. At the Italian embassy in Washington, the singer Gaia sang both the U.S. and Italian national anthems.
Italy’s ambassador to Washington, Mariangela Zappia, told about 1,000 guests that “the values of our Constitution, born from the referendum of 76 years ago, unite Italy and the United States in “a strong, special and exemplary bond.”
