Vieri, former star striker for Italy's national soccer team speaks at the Lega Serie A event in New York
Italy’s premier soccer league, the Lega Serie A, landed in the United States on Tuesday night in grand style, launching a new “historic phase” for Italian football, with an inaugural event called “Calcio is back,” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Some of Italy’s greatest soccer stars of all time were at the event, including the great Bobo Vieri who heaped praise on the championship that has just ended: “It was wonderful, the most beautiful of the last 10 to 12 years. It was exciting until the last second for the championship and salvation. Next year Juventus will also be there, with four teams will be fighting for the tricolor,” said the former Juventus, Inter and Milan striker.
