"I think the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is a tremendous platform to showcase innovative ideas and not only to get people to imagine future changes in the energy sector, but to incentivize the shift from combustion engines to renewable energy sources," said Horn.
Explorer Mike Horn and yachtsman Abhilash Tomy were among the guests at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, staged for the ninth year at the Monaco Yacht Club as part of the Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting initiative to design the boating of the future.
“I think the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is a tremendous platform to showcase innovative ideas and not only to get people to imagine future changes in the energy sector, but to incentivize the shift from combustion engines to renewable energy sources,” said Horn.
“Electric propulsion,” said Tomy, “is widespread in the car world but no one has really thought about boats. I hope that these guys from Kumaraguru College of Technology, when they come back, will work in these fields and that in the next 10 years at least 10 percent of the fishing boats in India can convert to electric.”
