Britain enters an era of uncertainty as it mourns Elizabeth
(LaPresse) King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, left Balmoral on Friday and departed from Scotland’s Aberdeen airport back to London. The king ascends the throne at a time of uncertainty for both the country and the monarchy itself. Charles, who became sovereign soon after his mother’s death, will then be formally proclaimed king in a special ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 10.
