Rome, 29 October (LaPresse) – Neapolitan music has lost one of its voices. James Senese died today at the age of 80, after a month in intensive care at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples for pneumonia. His condition, which had already been serious for several days, worsened until his death in the last few hours. His passing marks, in a sense, the end of an era made up of the notes vibrating from his saxophone and collaborations with Italian and international legends: from Bob Marley to Gil Evans, from the Art Ensemble of Chicago to Tullio De Piscopo and Pino Daniele.
