(LaPresse) Anti-government protesters in Hungary blocked a major thoroughfare in the capital during the morning rush hour. It is the latest in a series of protests against recent changes to the country’s tax code that have been going on for nearly a week. The crowd, largely composed of couriers delivering food on bicycles and scooters, blocked traffic in both directions on one of the main bridges over the Danube River in Budapest. Many of the protesters are independent entrepreneurs affected by legislative changes, passed by the Hungarian parliament last week, which they say will result in steep tax increases or job losses.
