Collected works could garner $2.5 million

(Lapresse) A rare edition of the first collection of Shakespeare’s plays will be auctioned at Sotheby’s. Known as a ‘First Folio’, it contains 36 works published in 1623, seven years after the playwright’s death. The volume will be on display at the London auction house until June 15, and will go on auction next month. It could sell for as much as $2.5 million dollars. In 2016, another copy sold for $2.75 million rival auction house Christie’s.
