Director David Fincher is nominated as Best Director

Singer Nick Jonas and his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas announced the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards. Among the Oscar nominees 2021, Mank received the most nominations with 10, including nominations in the categories of Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role, and Directing. Other Oscars nominees 2021 with multiple nominations include The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of  Metal and The Trial of the Chicago 7  with six nominations each. The Oscars 2021 will air April 25 on ABC and will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

Leading the way in the nominations is “Mank”, a black and white film that with biting dialogues and flashbacks, shows the Hollywood of the 30s through Herman Mankiewicz, screenwriter of Orson Welles’ masterpiece’ Fourth Estate ‘. After the posthumous Golden Globe for Best Actor in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’, Chadwick Boseman, who died in August of cancer aged 43, is also in the running for the Oscars.
