Rome, Sept. 5 (LaPresse) – “As I have already stated in recent days, following the remarks by Congressman Thomas Massie, there are issues on which one cannot and must not compromise. Seeing one’s name linked to that of Jeffrey Epstein, in the absence of any evidence justifying such an association, is unacceptable.” This was stated by Lapo Elkann. “I wonder whether the use of my name is intended to divert attention from others. I will protect my reputation through all appropriate legal channels against anyone who improperly uses my name or spreads completely unfounded reports. I remain, at all times, fully available to the competent authorities to provide any evidence, clarification or information that may be deemed useful.” “I crossed paths with Jeffrey Epstein twice,” Elkann explained. “The first time was in New York, when I was working as Henry Kissinger’s assistant, in a public setting attended by figures from the worlds of politics and finance. The second time was in Rome, at a business event connected to Brasilinvest. Moreover, as can easily be verified in the public archives known as the ‘Epstein Files,’ there is no direct correspondence between him and me.“I am particularly sensitive to issues concerning abuse and violence, also because of my own sad personal experience. This is one of the reasons why, through the LAPS Foundation, I have been promoting initiatives for vulnerable people for years, with particular attention to women and children who are victims of violence.”
