Rome, Aug. 30 (LaPresse) – Some of the world’s largest music publishing companies have filed a lawsuit against Anthropic. Axios reports this. The accusation is that it committed “one of the largest and most blatant thefts of intellectual property in history.” Some divisions of Sony Music and Warner Music have filed a complaint in the Northern District of California federal court, suing Anthropic, CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann. At stake, naturally, is the broad scope of what the lawsuit represents, as it is shaping up – Axios says – to be a prelude to “a years-long battle over music, artificial intelligence and the protection of intellectual property in the new technological era.”
