Rome, July 11 (LaPresse) – Foreign visitors’ spending in Italy has soared to more than 56 billion. This emerges from estimates prepared by CST-Centro Studi Turistici of Florence for Confesercenti, based on data from the Bank of Italy. In 2025, spending increased by 4.6% compared with 2024, with a further 3.9% increase forecast for this year. However, almost 56% of total spending is concentrated in just four regions: Lazio, Lombardy, Veneto and Tuscany. “Tourism is an irreplaceable engine,” said Confesercenti president Nico Gronchi. “The challenge will not only be to attract major global flows, but also to extend their stay, seasonality and distribution across the territory.”
