Gas, ARERA: ‘Prices to rise by 19.2% in March for vulnerable households’

Milan, 2 April (LaPresse) – The component of the gas price covering supply costs, which applies only to customers in the Vulnerability Protection Scheme, rose by 19.2% in March. This was announced by ARERA in an update on the cost of gas for the Vulnerability Protection Scheme for the month of March 2026. Following the decline recorded in February, ARERA notes that, due to the conflict in the Middle East, March 2026 saw wholesale prices rise sharply compared to those recorded in the previous month. Consequently, for the approximately 2.3 million customers still in the Vulnerability Protection Scheme, the price of the gas commodity alone stands at €52.12/MWh.
