Frankfurt (Germany), 10 March (LaPresse) – The Volkswagen Group has announced that it will cut around 50,000 jobs in Germany by 2030. ‘By 2030, around 50,000 jobs will be cut across the Volkswagen Group in Germany,’ explained CEO Oliver Blume in a letter to shareholders. At the end of 2024, the company had already announced plans to cut around 35,000 jobs at its main brand by 2030 as part of its restructuring plan. The collective labour agreement with the IG Metall trade union stipulates that there will be no compulsory redundancies until the end of 2030.
