Manoeuvre: cigarette price increases of up to 30 pence come into effect on Friday

Milan, 15 January (LaPresse) – From tomorrow, Friday 16 January, the first cigarette price increases, established by the Budget Law, will come into effect. As reported by the Italian Tobacconists’ Federation, the Customs and Monopolies Agency has already made available the table showing the price changes per kilo with the corresponding increases per packet. The list shows the updated prices of cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, shredded tobacco and other smoking tobacco. The first price increases affect Philip Morris cigarettes, such as Marlboro, Chesterfield, Merit, Diana and Muratti. The Italian Tobacconists’ Federation announces that “the products listed in the price list, already published on the Customs and Monopolies Agency website, will undergo a price change that will come into effect on 16 January 2026”, adding that “as of today, limited to the brands subject to the tariff change, Cash & Carry sales and supplementary (extraordinary and urgent) withdrawals requested on the same day are prohibited”.
