Rome, 21 October (LaPresse) – “The second edition of the General Assembly on Health and Safety at Work is an opportunity to reaffirm, with renewed determination, our commitment not to give up in the face of accidents and deaths at work. It is a daily sequence that dramatically reminds us, every day, of how urgent it is to take action.” These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the Chair of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into working conditions in Italy, exploitation and the protection of health and safety in public and private workplaces, Chiara Gribaudo, on the occasion of the General Assembly currently taking place in the Chamber of Deputies. “The protection of workers is the first form of justice in the workplace, an integral part of the right of every woman and man to carry out dignified and protected work. A job is not real if it is not also safe,” remarked the Head of State.
