France's main air traffic controllers' union, SNCTA, called the one-day strike to demand wage increases in the wake of soaring inflation and to call for more staff to be hired in the coming years.

(LaPresse) Dozens of canceled domestic and international flights and much disruption in France due to the air traffic controllers’ strike. Air France said it canceled 55 percent of its short- and medium-haul flights and 10 percent of its long-haul flights. Other airlines operating in France, including Ryanair, Easyjet, and Volotea, have also canceled flights. France’s main air traffic controllers’ union, SNCTA, called the one-day strike to demand wage increases in the wake of soaring inflation and to call for more staff to be hired in the coming years.
