Energy prices are causing fear across Europe

(LaPresse) – Gas prices hit a new record for the second consecutive day. After opening below 300, futures at the Amsterdam market broke through the ceiling of 339 euros per megawatt hour. And the EU Council presidency lets it be known that it will “convene an urgent meeting of energy ministers to discuss specific measures to address the energy situation.”

“I first asked the government to intervene and I have news that a decree is being prepared,” says Forza Italia leader Silvio Berlusconi. On the fuel front, gasoline prices rise, touching 1.770 euros per liter in self-service mode, and diesel, reaching 1.802 euros.
