As inflation rises and wages fall, tens of thousands of Portenos protest
(LaPresse) Tens of thousands of people marched in protest in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to demand better pay and protest the government’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund. The government of President Alberto Fernández plans to restructure the IMF’s $ 44 billion debt dating back to the 2018 loan. The deal has sparked a political crisis and sparked protests across the country. About 37% of the population lives in a state of poverty, with low wages and rising commodity prices.
