Clashes are intensifying in Zaporizhzhia, southern Ukraine. The roof of building number one of the nuclear power plant was reportedly damaged by shelling that pro-Russians attribute to the Kiev army. The Kremlin says it is ready to cooperate with the IAEA mission in Zaporizhzhia. Raids by Moscow forces instead hit Mykolaiv, where at least two people died and five others were wounded. The city’s mayor urged residents to seek shelter. Ukrainian forces, on the other hand, launched a counteroffensive in several directions, including the Kherson region. Chancellor Scholz announces an international conference on Oct. 25 in Berlin to rebuild the country.
