Dr. Viktoria Mahnych, goes each day to check on Covid-19 patients in the western Ukraine area. “I don’t have any time or energy left,” lamented Mahnych, who said she has to work day and night without any time off. “My family is practically not seeing me.”
Ukraine returned to lockdown on Friday to stem the increase in Covid-19 cases. The squeeze comes the day after the celebration of Orthodox Christmas and will last until January 25. Stopped schools, closed shops and markets and restaurants with takeaway only in the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk due to the measures implemented by the government of Kiev. There are about 9,000 cases per day in the country.
